NORTH & INK

North & Ink began with a simple kind of curiosity: the habit of stopping to look.

Growing up in Norway, the forest was never simply scenery. It was somewhere to wander, play, notice things and learn their names. The plants that grew there became familiar companions — some remarkable, some ordinary, and often beautiful precisely because they were ordinary.

North & Ink is a Nordic Herbarium built from that relationship with the landscape.

At its heart is a carefully curated collection of Nordic botanical specimens, illustrated in an archival style and carried across objects made to be used, kept and lived with. Each species is chosen for its place in the Nordic landscape and for the stories, memories and small observations that gather around it.

Four Foundation Specimens form the permanent heart of the Herbarium. Alongside them is a growing archive of Signature Specimens, allowing you to choose the plant that speaks to you and make your own selection part of the collection.

This is not a catalogue of every plant that grows in the North. It was never meant to be.

It is a curated one.

A herbarium of familiar leaves, flowers, berries and fronds; of plants we walk past, plants we remember, and plants worth stopping to look at once more.
